The Milligan College women’s
basketball team defeated King College in an
Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game
by a score of 67-60 on Tuesday night in
Bristol, Tenn.
King led by as many as 14 points in the
first half, but Milligan was able to cut the
lead down to just three at halftime.
After a back and forth second half,
Milligan’s
Kaci
Letterman (Gray, Tenn.) hit a
three with 6:38 remaining in the game, to
give the Lady Buffs a 56-54 lead that they
would not relinquish.
Rikki
Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.)
notched a double-double with 12 points and
12 rebounds,
Hali Sparks
(Erwin, Tenn.) had 16 points on a
7-of-10 shooting performance, and Letterman
finished with 11 points. The Lady Buffs were
16-of-18 from the free throw line in the
contest.
Kristi Moody and Beth Raby who scored 17 and
16 points respectively led the King College
squad.
The win improves Milligan to 3-4 overall and
2-1 in the AAC.
The Lady Buffs will play again on Friday,
Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Steve Lacy
Fieldhouse against conference opponent
Bluefield College.
