TIGERVILLE, SC (September
16, 2006)---The Milligan College Lady
Buffs volleyball team secured a win over
the Lady Crusaders of North Greenville
College with a score of 3-1 (27-30,
30-20, 30-28, 30-20). Milligan’s
record improves to 4-5 overall, while
remaining 1-2 in the Appalachian
Athletic Conference.
Amanda Hyder
(Johnson City, Tenn.) totaled 14 kills
in the game for Milligan, followed by
teammate Tara Earhart (Bristol,
Tenn.) with 13. Emily Rigney
(Danville, Ky.) had 20 digs; she also
served five aces. Christy Degen
(Atlanta, Ga.) had 16 digs of her own,
while senior Allison Langrel
(Gray, Tenn.) contributed to the victory
with two solo blocks. Freshman
Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.)
accumulated 53 assists in the game.
Kim Hyatt,
the head coach for the Lady Buffs, was
pleased with the victory. “The girls
really played as a team today and our
execution was great.”
Milligan will return to action on
September 19 to take on conference rival
King College. The game will be hosted by
King College at 6:30 p.m.
