Milligan falls to King in AAC volleyball contest

BRISTOL, TN (September 19, 2006)---Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) rivals Milligan College and King College faced off in a volleyball match-up Tuesday night, with King playing host to the Lady Buffs. King College’s Lady Tornadoes beat the Lady Buffs of Milligan with a score of 0-3. The Lady Tornadoes’ record moves to 9-2, 3-3 AAC, while the Lady Buffs move to 4-6, 1-3 AAC.

Milligan’s Alyssa Graber (Montgomery, In.) had five kills in the game, followed closely by freshman Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) with four.  Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.) accumulated seventeen assists in the game for the Lady Buffs.  Lynch also had two solo blocks.  Sophomore Christy Degen (Atlanta, Ga.) had 22 digs in the match-up.  She also served two aces against the Lady Tornadoes.

Milligan’s next game will be against another conference opponent, Bryan College, on September 22.  The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Bryan College.
