MILLIGAN
COLLEGE, TN (October 28, 2006) --- The Milligan College
volleyball team won a pair of Appalachian Athletic
Conference (AAC) matches Saturday over Covenant (Ga.)
College and Tennessee Wesleyan College at the Steve Lacy
Fieldhouse. The Lady Buffs won the morning contest against
Covenant 3-2 (27-30, 30-14, 30-19, 28-30, 15-10) and then
ended the day with a 3-1 (30-14, 16-30, 30-24, 30-26) win
over Tennessee Wesleyan in the afternoon.
With the
wins, Milligan improves to 6-10 in the AAC and 12-18
overall.

In the
first match of the day against Covenant, junior
Amanda Hyder
(Johnson City, Tenn.) accounted for 15 kills and served six
aces. Senior Tara Earhart
(Bristol, Tenn.) also added 15 kills while freshman
Jana Emmelman
(Indianapolis, Ind.) recorded six solo blocks.
Christy Degen
(Atlanta, Ga.) registered 26 digs and
Meredith Lynch
(Lexington, Ky.) was credited with 45 assist in the victory.

Against
Tennessee Wesleyan, Hyder once again led the Lady Buffs in
kills with 16 while Earhart added 11 kills and 22 digs.
Degen also recorded 22 digs while Lynch supplied 29 assist,
and Alyssa Graber
(Montgomery, Ind.) served four aces
Next for
Milligan is a key AAC contest against rival King (Tenn.)
College, the current leader in the AAC standings. The Lady
Buffs will host King Monday, October 30, for a 4 p.m. match
at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
