MILLIGAN
COLLEGE, TN (October 14, 2006)---The Milligan College men’s
soccer team improved their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)
record to 6-1 on Saturday with a win against visiting Union
College at Anglin Field.
The Buffs controlled the ball for much of the game and managed
21 shots to Union’s seven.
Freshman Said Abdi (Kismaayo, Somalia) scored the first
two goals of the game in the 29th and 50th
minutes on assists from Caleb Bollman (Avon, Ind.) and
David Lilly (Coatbridge, Scotland).
Lilly would then go on to assist Milligan’s third goal, scored
by senior Travis Young (Largo, Fla.) in the 52nd
minute, and score the fourth in the 66th minute on a
shared assist from Bollman and junior Michael Johnson
(Indianapolis, Ind.)
Jordan Fode (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) tallied
three saves for his sixth shutout of the season.
Milligan improves to 9-6 overall with the victory and into a
second place tie with King College in the AAC standings. Union
falls to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the AAC.
The Buffs next game will be a face off with conference leader
Bryan College on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at Anglin Field.
