NSCAA No. 7 defeats Milligan, 4-0

SPARTANBURG, SC (September 23, 2006)---The Milligan College men’s soccer team was defeated by The University of South Carolina Upstate on Saturday night in Spartanburg, S.C.

The NCAA Div. II and National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America’s seventh ranked team in the nation defeated the Buffs by a score of 4-0

The Buffs were able to out shoot their opponents by a count of 13-11, however Milligan managed just six shots on goal to 11 for the opposition.

Jordan Fode (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) had seven saves in goal for the Buffs.

The loss moves Milligan’s record to an even 4-4 on the year. The Buffs remain 2-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). U-S.C.-Upstate improves to 6-0-1 on the season.

Milligan will return to the field on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Bristol, Va., against Virginia Intermont College at 7 p.m. in AAC action.
