MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (September
22, 2006)---The Milligan College men’s soccer
team was narrowly defeated by NAIA No. 11
Lindenwood University by a score of 1-0 on
Friday night at Anglin Field.
The only score of the game came in the 17th
minute when Lindenwood’s Gerardo Chavez guided a
ball past Milligan goalkeeper Jordan Fode
(Surrey, British Columbia, Canada).
Fode had three saves on the night.
Milligan was not without opportunities, as they
out shot Lindenwood by a count of 15 to eight,
and managed eight corner kicks to Lindenwood’s
five. The Buffs were unable to tie the game
however, as Lindenwood goalkeeper Sanel Boric
had three saves to preserve the shutout.
Both David Lilly (Coatbridge, Scotland)
and Caleb Bollman (Avon, Ind.) had four
shots for the Buffs.
The loss drops Milligan’s overall record to 4-3
on the season. They remain 2-1 in Appalachian
Athletic Conference play. With the victory,
Lindenwood improves to 4-2 on the year.
The Milligan men will be in action again
tomorrow, Sept. 23, in Spartanburg, S.C. against
the University of South Carolina Upstate in a
match to begin at 7 p.m.
