BECKLEY, WV (October 10,
2006)---The Milligan College
women’s and men’s soccer teams
were each able to come away with
wins on Monday against
Appalachian Athletic Conference
(AAC) rival Bluefield College in
games played in Beckley, W.V.
The Lady Buffs cruised to a 10-0
victory, out shooting Bluefield
32-1. Dagmar Arnardottir
(Kopvagur, Iceland) had two
goals and two assists, Sarah
Sereno (Williamsport, Penn.)
had two goals, Katie Kiebler
(Lexington, Ky.) had a goal and
two assists, Hanna Lovbrand
(Orebro, Sweden) had a goal
and an assist, Beth Toner
(Rote, Penn) had two assists and
Kristin Zutt (Louisville,
Ky.), Kelley Foster
(Johnson City, Tenn.), Katie
King (Knoxville, Tenn.) and
Lydia Parker (Manteno,
Ill.) all scored one goal
apiece.
The win improves the women to an
even 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the
AAC.
The Lady Buffs will return to
action on Saturday, Oct. 14,
against AAC opponent Union
College at Anglin Field at 2
p.m.
In the men’s game, things were a
little closer with the Buffs
edging their way to a 1-0 win.
Kyle Wilcox
(Indianapolis, Ind.) scored an
unassisted goal to give Milligan
the victory.
The
Buffs out shot Bluefield 25-9
and Jordan Fode (Surrey,
British Columbia, Canada) had
five saves for the shutout.
The Milligan men improve to 8-5
overall and 5-1 in the AAC.
The
Buffs will welcome Bethel (Ky.)
College to Anglin Field on
Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
