The
Milligan College men's basketball team dropped the
2006-2007 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)
opener against No. 25 Tennessee Wesleyan College
Wednesday evening in Athens, Tenn. The Buffs were
unable to overcome a 50-26 defecit as Tennessee
Wesleyan went onto a 92-77 victory.
Milligan was paced by Danny McKeehan (Morrow,
Ohio) who scored 14 points. Jeff Barnes
(Franklin, Tenn.) had 12 points and 10 rebounds,
Joe Brown (Blountville, Tenn.) had 11 points and
Frankie Harris (Martinsville, Va.) had 10
points and 10 rebounds.
Sloppy play would be the Buffs’ undoing however, as
they committed 25 turnovers and went 6-for-19 from
the free throw line.
With the results, Milligan is now 4-3 on the season
and 0-1 in conference while Tennessee Wesleyan opens
their conference season at 1-0 while improving to
6-3 overall.
For TWC, Tyler Gaskin scored 19 points while
teammate Zach Gulmire poured in 17 points.
Next for the Buffs is their AAC home opener against
Virginia Intermont College Saturday, December 2,
with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Steve
Lacy Fieldhouse.
