The Milligan College men’s
basketball team convincingly defeated
Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)
foe King College by a score of 76-59 on
Tuesday night in Bristol, Tenn.
The Buffs jumped out to an early 20-10
lead, only to see King come storming
back to take a 23-22 lead with 6:49
remaining in the first half. Milligan
responded however, taking back the lead
on a
Joe Brown (Blountville,
Tenn.) three and never looking back.
Zach Dezarn
(Franklin, Ohio) led the charge with 20
points on 7-of-10 shooting, including
4-of-4 from beyond the three point line.
Jeff
Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.)
contributed 18 points and nine rebounds
and
Frankie Harris (Martinsville,
Va.) added 10 points and eight boards.
Torrington Cox led the way for King,
scoring 17 points and chalking up seven
rebounds, while Nick Pasqua and freshman
Clarence Smith added 12 and 10 points
respectively.
The win improves Milligan 6-2 overall
and 2-1 in the AAC.
The Buffs will return to the court on
Friday, Dec. 8, against conference
opponent Bluefield College at 7:30 p.m.
at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
