MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (November 30, 2006) —
Former Elizabethton High School cheerleading
coach and Milligan College alumna Rhonda Paulson
has joined Milligan’s athletic staff as head
cheerleading coach.
Paulson brings several years of experience to
the program, having served as head cheerleading
coach at Elizabethton High School from 1998 to
2002. Last year she served as cheerleading
sponsor to the Milligan squad.
Paulson’s hiring, along with new scholarship
opportunities, are part of Milligan’s expansion
of their co-ed cheerleading program.
“Our goal is to take the cheering squad at
Milligan to the next level,” said Paulson. “We
want to not only help lead Milligan in school
spirit, but display the intense athleticism it
takes to cheer and eventually compete on a
national level.”
Milligan has announced other program expansions
in the last year. Additional athletic
scholarships were made available to the tennis
and track and field programs, along with
coaching staff additions.
“Our commitment to our athletic programs is
evident in the new facilities, additional
scholarships and recent additions to our
athletic staff,” said Mark Fox, vice president
for student development. “We want to provide the
same level of resources to all of our athletes.”
Paulson is currently recruiting male and female
athletes with cheerleading and tumbling
experience for the cheerleading program. For

All-Conference and Academic All-American
players. The college has 14 intercollegiate
programs that compete in the Appalachian
Athletic Conference (AAC) and National
