NEWARK, OH
(November 12,
2004)--- The Milligan College Buffaloes basketball traveled to
Ohio State-Newark Friday evening to take a victory by a score of
94-71. With the win, the Buffs improve to 2-0 on the season
while OSU-Newark falls to 0-3.
Milligan was
led by sophomore guard Nick Tuggle (Cordova, Tenn.) as he
scored 17 points, ten assist along with nine rebounds against
Newark, as Tuggle was only one rebound away from a triple-double
night. Senior forward Craig Emmert (Cass City, Mich.) led
Milligan in points with 23 and grabbed ten rebounds. The Buffs
had a pair of freshman guards record double-digit figures in
points, Anthony Wilhelm (Petoskey, Mich.) racked up 15
while Harvey Bell (Spartanburg, S.C.) scored 12 to go
along with his seven rebounds.
“We played
good team defense in a well played game,” said Milligan
assistant coach Tae Norwood, “we moved the ball well
against their press and our post players had a big night for
us.”
Next for the
Buffs is their finale on their Ohio journey with a match-up
against Ohio State-Marion Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
