MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN
(January 11, 2004) --- Milligan sophomore Adam Hughes
(Bluff City, Tenn.) sank a free-throw with less than a second in
the game to give the Buffs an 85-84 win over conference rival
Bryan College.
Milligan led 53-38
at halftime only to see the lead cut to one point at the nine
minute mark of the second half with a basket from Bryan's
transfer Versell Wells.
Wells led all
scorers on the night with 30 points.
Milligan Senior
Craig Emmert (Cass City, Mich.) had another solid
performance with a team-high 19 points and nine rebounds.
Hughes finished with 15 points, and the Buffs placed four men in
double figures.
The Buffs shot
fifty-five percent on the night and sixty-percent from three
point land. Freshman Joe Brown (Blountville,
Tenn.) was 3-5 from the outer stripe.
Milligan moves to
9-8 on the season and 6-4 in the conference, Bryan falls to 11-3
overall, and 7-3 in the conference.
Next for the Buffs
is Covenant College at home this Saturday at 7:30p.m.
