App State defeats Buffaloes
BOONE,
NC (December 18, 2004) --- The Milligan College Buffaloes (8-4)
basketball team lost to NCAA Division 1 Southern Conference
member Appalachian State (N.C.) University (5-3) by a score of
98-67 Saturday evening in Boone, N.C.
Milligan’s freshman guard Anthony Wilhelm (Petoskey,
Mich.) led all scorers with 19 points in the contest as he was
followed closely by teammate senior forward Craig Emmert
(Cass City, Mich.) with 18 points, while Noah Brown led
App State with 17 points.
A strong
second half performance for Appalachian State as the
Mountaineers out scored Milligan 51-23 in the second half.
Milligan was trailing at halftime by a 47-44 score.
Next for
Milligan is the Disney’s NAIA Basketball Challenge to be played
at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla.
December 21-22. The first game of 2005 will see the Buffs travel
to Brevard (N.C.) College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference
match-up January 6 at 7:30 p.m.
