Giving opportunities
Each year, Milligan College must raise essential support for college operations. Those of us who support Milligan have the opportunity to focus our giving on particular areas of interest within the college's budget. We do so with confidence that we are investing in the academic and spiritual development of promising students who will become productive citizens and leaders. Your gift to Milligan in one of the following areas is an investment in Christian leadership that will change lives and shape culture.
Annual Scholarships
Funding for the Annual Scholarship Program is essential to underwrite annual merit and need-based scholarships. Many students simply could not attend Milligan without significant financial assistance. More than 90 percent of Milligan's undergraduate students receive college-funded scholarships every year, not including other forms of assistance. Each year, the college must provide more than $4 million for Annual Scholarships. A strong Annual Scholarship Program enables the college to meet these needs. Today, students who have tremendous potential to impact the world for Christ may decide they must forego a Milligan education solely for financial reasons. The college loses many of these students every year, and we seek to address this need.
Giving for annual scholarships may be designated for scholarships in specific majors, merit scholarships, need based scholarships, athletic scholarships, work study, or grants.
Named Scholarships
For a commitment starting at $2,500 a year for four years, a scholarship may be awarded by name or in someone's honor or memory.
Class Scholarships
Reunion or other alumni classes have the opportunity to name a scholarship for one year or multiple years for a collective annual commitment starting at $2,500.
Academic Programs
The foundation of the college's ability to excel academically comes from the strong support of the college's faculty and their ability to teach effectively. Each year, more than $3.5 million is needed to support academics at Milligan. Giving may be designated for specific majors or programs, faculty development, library resources, or technological developments and improvements.
Student Development
Student Development activities include Residence Life, Spiritual Life, Chapel, Service Learning, and Intramural and Intercollegiate Athletics. More than $1.6 million is needed every year to support these crucial activities. Gifts may be designated to underwrite chapel programs, counseling services, career development, service learning and mission opportunities, or specific athletic teams and their programs.
Facilities and Grounds
Keeping the campus functioning properly and looking good requires more than $1 million each year for renovations and improvements, landscaping, and equipment. Gifts may be designated to support equipment needs, maintenance and improvement projects, or campus groundskeeping and beautification.
Endowment
Endowed funds will enable Milligan to assist deserving students with adequate scholarship assistance, attract and retain the best faculty, develop new programs that strengthen the curriculum, and properly maintain campus facilities, all while keeping the cost to students manageable.
