The college pays a portion of the overall group insurance coverage. The monthly cost to employees, until March 2009, is Single Coverage - $125.00 Family coverage - $275.00
New employees have a 30 day open-enrollment period for health coverage; pre-existing conditions will be covered if an employee signs up during this time. After open enrollment, acceptance into the plan is subject to underwriting.
Long Term Disability
The college provides long-term disability coverage to each full-time employee. This coverage has a 90 day elimination period and provides a disability benefit of 60% of pre-disability earnings.
Life Insurance
The college provides $20,000 of life insurance coverage to each full-time employee. There is also an option to purchase additional voluntary coverage.
Pension Plan
The college matches up to 7% of base pay in retirement (4o3b) plans with either TIAA (Teachers Insurance Annuity Association) or PFCC (Pension Fund of the Christian Church). Employees may join pension plans at any time. Premiums for pension plans are paid through payroll deduction and may be sheltered from federal tax.
Tax-Sheltered Benefits
During spring enrollment for the College's Section 125(d) (Cafeteria Plan) employees may elect several tax-sheltered options for payroll deduction, including Medical Savings and Dependent Care accounts. Health insurance and dental premiums may be tax-sheltered under Section 125 for new employees in advance of the annual enrollment.
On-Campus Dining
Faculty and Staff may dine in the college cafeteria at reduced rates. In addition, every Monday and Thursday the charge for lunch is only $1.50 for Milligan faculty and staff.

Vacation

Sick Days
Sick Day benefits are accrued from the date of employment for a total of 10 days per year, up to a maximum of 90 working days.
