Master of Education

Advanced Licensure Program
Are you a current teacher looking for professional development? Milligan's MEd Advanced program can help you add endorsement areas or prepare for board certification.

QUALITY CURRICULUM
The advanced program integrates theory, action research, and reflective practice and is designed increase both the quality and quantity of the educational experiences for teachers in professional education. Student outcomes are based on the National Board for Professional Teacher Standards (NBPTS), and participation in the program can help prepare students for board certification.

The 36-hour program consists of a 24-credit hour core and 12 elective credits. Courses such as Mentorship, Assessment and Evaluation, and Classroom Management are part of a core of classes designed to further develop and enhance your classroom skills.

ENDORSEMENT AREAS
The 12 elective hours can be used to tailor the program to your interests by choosing courses that appeal to you personally or to add-on another endorsement. Milligan offers endorsements in PreK-3, K-6, 4-8 Middle Grades, 7-12 Secondary, and a few areas of K-12. Some add-ons may require more than then 12 elective credits. CONVENIENT SCHEDULE
You can finish the 36-credit hour program in 20 months beginning in the fall semester, or complete it one or two courses at a time as your schedule allows. Fall and spring courses are offered in the evening. Two four-week summer terms are offered.
