The Institute for Servant Leadership (ISL)
Scholarship
Program
Purpose
To prepare a new generation of leaders for the church and
society. The program helps students discern their own individual
calling through faith, service, and leadership.
Amount
- $2,000 annual scholarship.
- Renewable for up to three years of
full-time enrollment after the year the initial award is made
(total of four years). See details below.
Eligibility
- Be a traditional undergraduate
student
- First-time enrollment at Milligan:
Fall 2009
- Complete one or more of the
following:
- Youth Leadership program conducted
by Chamber of Commerce
- Participation and Leadership within
school organization, extracurricular activities, and church
- Community involvement and service
- Boy Scouts - Eagle Award; Girl
Scouts - Gold Award
- Completion of
Youth in Ministry’s
The Big Picture Conference
Program
- 15 hours of community service each
semester
- Participation in 2 ISL events per
semester (lectures, service days, leadership conferences,
house courses, special events)
- Participation in Junior and Senior
ISL events
- Completion of designated leadership
course
- Development of a personalized
Individual Plan for Leadership
- Brief reflection paper (2 pages) at
end of each semester
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA and be in good
college standing
Scholarship Renewal
To maintain scholarship eligibility, recipients must:

participate in the ISL Scholars Program, as
outlined above and described in ISL Orientation

maintain full-time student status
-
maintain a minimum 2.5 college GPA
-
make satisfactory progress toward completion
of a degree objective

comply with the following regulations, which
include: be a good citizen on campus; represent the school in a
dignified and respectable manner; comply with all moral and
lifestyle expectations as set forth in the Student Handbook
