Graphic Design

Area of Performing, Visual and Communicative Arts

Updated Fall 2013

The graphic design minor supports the following goals of Milligan College:

This minor will provide undergraduate students the opportunity to supplement a major with a minor in graphic design. A minor in graphic design is suggested for any student whose future endeavors may involve the creation or implementation of visual communications. Students gain in-depth experience using industry-standard computer software while acquiring an understanding of graphic design principles and the various formats used in the field. The graphic design minor serves as an excellent complement to many majors, including business administration (marketing emphasis), computer information systems, fine arts (art emphasis), and communications (public relations emphasis). This minor better prepares students for their future careers by offering them marketable skills, enabling them to become more viable in today's competitive job market. A graphic design minor will also prepare students for internships and entry-level positions in the field of graphic design.
