Milligan welcomes students for Honors Weekend

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2015) — Milligan College welcomed 22 new students, as well as their families, to the first Honors Weekend, an orientation event for the new Honors Program, an opportunity beginning in the 2015-16 school year for high-achieving students from all major fields to deepen their intellectual scholarship, leadership and service.

While this weekend will provide the students sessions and activities for them to better acclimate to campus life, they also will be interviewing for two full-tuition scholarships, named in memory of Milligan’s 14th president, Donald R. Jeanes. Coming from all over the eastern United States, as well as locally, the students were required to have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least a 29 on the ACT or 1300 on the re-centered SAT to be admitted to the Honors Program.
