MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2014) – Milligan College will host an information open house for its early childhood education degree completion program on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 4:30-7 p.m. in room 213 at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education.

The Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education allows adults who have completed about two years of college to complete the child and youth development major in about 18 months. Teaching licensure in early childhood education (PreK-3) may be obtained by completing additional coursework and a 15-week supervised teaching experience in a public school setting. The program is offered both on Milligan’s campus and in Kingsport.

“This program is ideal for individuals who want to teach children in public and private schools or serve in leadership positions in church-related preschools or other early childhood programs,” said Courtney Kieslich, director of graduate and professional studies. “Now that the program is also offered in Kingsport, it is more convenient than ever for a working adult to finish their degree.”

Milligan also will host another information open house for all of their graduate and professional studies programs on Thursday, Oct. 30, 7:30-9 a.m., at Summit Leadership, located at 3104 Hanover Road, Johnson City.

Representatives will be available to discuss degree completion programs for adults in business administration, early childhood education and nursing (RN to BSN), as well as graduate degree programs in business administration (MBA), education (M.Ed.), occupational therapy (MSOT) and counseling (MSC). The information session also will include information about Milligan’s online major in computer information systems (CIS), as well as programs available at the Kingsport Academic Village.
