Lecture to offer tips for organizational success


Lee FierbaughMILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Oct. 2, 2012) — Dr. A. Lee Fierbaugh will deliver a lecture, titled “Key to Organizational Success: Communicate with Your Employees,” on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. in Milligan College’s Hyder Auditorium, located in the Science Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Fierbaugh is the vice president for marketing and enrollment management at Milligan. She has 18 years of leadership experience in higher education and has completed extensive research on organizational communication.

Her lecture will provide useful information for teachers, administrators and leaders who want to strengthen morale and involvement in their school or organization.

“Open and effective internal communication at an organization or school is critical to cultivating job satisfaction, productivity and ultimately organizational success,” Fierbaugh said.

Her presentation will include suggestions for improving the communication climate and perspective at organizations and schools. She will share how leaders can enable and encourage dialogue between supervisors and employees, as well as develop an effective strategic communication plan. Other topics include the use of social media and communication coaching. In addition, she will field questions from the audience.

Fierbaugh has an Ed.D. in higher education administration and a Master of Arts degree in communications from Regent University (Virginia Beach, Va.). She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Milligan.

In addition, Fierbaugh completed certificate programs at the Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration at Bryn Mawr College (Bryn Mawr, Penn.) and at the Institute for Research on Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania—The Wharton School.

Fierbaugh is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America, Appalachian College Association PR Council Leadership Team, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is a recipient of the “40 Under Forty” Tri-Cities Business Journal award and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce 2015 Leadership Class.
